The first step is preparing. Below you’ll find some resources to help you get started. Once you get thinking about where you want to go, and what’s involved, we can talk about getting you there.

The home buying process

Below you’ll find 4 key steps to the home buying process.

selling tip item oneIn depth needs analysis

Ask yourself what it is you want in a home. Is this your first home? Are you looking to stop paying rent? Are you looking to upsize or downsize? Is your family growing? Consider areas you are interested in moving to – how long is your commute to work? Is the neighbourhood new? How much space do you need? It’s very important to determine the “needs” versus the “would like to haves”.

selling tip item twoDetermine how much you can afford

Get pre-approved by a qualified mortgage specialist or lender. They will help you determine how much you can afford to pay every month and a price range that works within your budget – taking into account your down payment, income, existing debt, regular expenditures and other key financial information.
